This is a warning to all pet owners in Rocky Ripple and others that walk their dogs in the West Campus area or have cats that wander. Earlier this week, a dog died after ingesting what appears to be canned chicken mixed with antifreeze. The incident has been reported to Butler, IMPD and DNR. We do not know how many more of these bait traps might be out there, if any, but please be very careful as you walk the woods or trails along the river.

If you see anything suspicious, please contact DNR dispatch (812-837-9536) or the IMPD non-emergency hotline if DNR is unavailable. Additional BU and DNR patrols have been dispatched to monitor the area.

Thanks for your diligence in keeping residents and pets safe.
