Emergency Alert 08-14-2026: DPW and IFD are urging residents to start evacuating. The projected height of the river is now 16.5' to 17.5'. Some parts of the levee are only about 17' feet. High water peak should come early Saturdya afternoon. We strongly recommend finding a place outside of Rocky Ripple to stay for the next couple of days. DPW and IFD officials will be coming into the neighborhood tonight to knock on doors. Please take this seriously. Grab important paperwork, laptops, charges, medicines, etc. and make arrangements to leave.

Due to additional rain, the new calculations are for for 21.1' at Nora which will put us at 17.1' to 18.1". And it is raining now. There is nothing we can do but be safe. These are the latest number beng calculated by emergency management.

Peak will not be until 8 PM tonight. Long, drawn out high water event. We do not know when we will be able ot go back. I would not count on coming back in, if it does not flood until at least late Sunday. Possibly even Monday. But that is the best guess right now.

Water is currently about a foot under levee at town hall. Water is set to rise just over a foot more. But this rain may make it worse.

Gate 4 at Hinkle is open for restrooms and water.
