Emergency Alert 08-14-2026: DPW and IFD are urging residents to start evacuating. The projected height of the river is now 16.5' to 17.5'. Some parts of the levee are only about 17' feet. High water peak should come early Saturdya afternoon. We strongly recommend finding a place outside of Rocky Ripple to stay for the next couple of days. DPW and IFD officials will be coming into the neighborhood tonight to knock on doors. Please take this seriously. Grab important paperwork, laptops, charges, medicines, etc. and make arrangements to leave.

Butler Construction Traffic Starting Monday August 3rd

We were informed today that Butler will begin work on the new tennis courts in the West athletic fields starting on Monday August 3rd. The few details we have are that the old courts and bleachers will be removed, double the number of courts and bleachers will be built and storm water drainage added.

We are waiting for details from Butler on the project timeline and full project scope. They said they would try to have additional information on Thursday July 30th.

We wanted to give everyone as much of a heads up of the impending construction traffic that will be happening. We are assuming most of this traffic will be on 52nd Street and Lester Street from 52nd to 51st. But we do not have any firm details currently.

As we get more details, we will share the information as quickly as possible.

The Town Board has expressed our extreme frustrations with this short notice and lack of project details. We have included John Barth, our City County Councilor, in all communications.
